Disintegration of aggregates and coccospheres in sediment trap samples

Abstract
A method for non-destructive disaggregation of coccoliths contained in fecal pellets, marine snow and on coccospheres is described. It consists of repeatedchemical oxidation of organic material with (NaClO and H2O2) combined with brief periods of ultrasonification.
